Missionary Bishop
The Rt. Rev. Martyn Minns: In view of his many years of personal involvement in mission partnerships throughout the Anglican Communion, Martyn Minns was elected to serve as the founding Missionary Bishop of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) on June 28, 2006. He was duly consecrated a bishop on August 20, 2006. His installation as bishop was held May 5, 2007. [read more]
Suffragan Bishops
The Rt. Rev’d Roger Copeland Ames, suffragan bishop for CANA, serves as rector at St. Luke’s Church (Akron OH). Given the division in The Episcopal Church USA (TEC), Ames left TEC around 2004 and came under the oversight of Bishop Frank Lyons of the Diocese of Bolivia in South America. Bishop Lyons recently worked with CANA’s Missionary Bishop Martyn Minns to transfer St. Luke’s and a number of other congregations from Bolivia to CANA. [read more]
The Rt. Rev’d David Craig Anderson, Sr., suffragan bishop, became canonically linked with the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) on All Saints Day 2006. Bishop Anderson also currently is President and CEO of the American Anglican Council (AAC), based in Atlanta. [read more]
The Rt. Rev. David J. Bena: After retiring from his post in Albany, the Rt. Rev. David J. Bena now serves as suffragan bishop, assisting CANA's Missionary Bishop Martyn Minns with leading the growing number of CANA congregations and clergy, especially in Virginia and the great Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The Rt. Rev'd Amos A. Fagbamiye, suffragan bishop, joined the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) upon its emergence. He serves as vicar at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection (Indianapolis IN). He has earned seven graduate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. [read more]
The Rt. Rev’d Nathan C. O. Kanu, a suffragan bishop for the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA), was a founding member of CANA. In CANA, he has served as the Canon for Internal Communications, has been a member of the Reception Committee which reviews applications for new members, and has been one of the chief liaisons between CANA and the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
